Another consideration: if "aulter" and the person who created the havoc were the same, it could have been prevented, because I alerted the forum and the administration with plenty of time in advance.

omg.... the os x86 world is going to crumble.... i can forsee it.... i'm going to get my mbp in 2 weeks and quit man... no point hanging around in a place full of politics and hostility....
Man, you are so right. Idiotic, shallow kids and gangs of n00bs are being encouraged, the devs went and/or lost motivation, new release hardly available or very buggy...
Have you noticed that the wiki is only updated to 10.4.8?
Hard choices have become unavoidable. It is either buying a real Mac or going back to whatever OS you were using before, which in my case would be Linux (and it can even be more fun).
Apple doesn't make the first option (buying a Mac) very palatable for a hardware geek like me. The only reasonable choice is a Mac Pro, which costs twice as much as a quad core rig I can build myself, and with outdated hardware (still no decent GeForce?)
Stupid S.J. doesn't understand he his losing a potentially large slice of the market.

Well the wiki is up to anyone to update.. it's a wiki.. *you* are as much to blame for it not being up to date as anyone.... As for the state of the scene, well yes it's a mess..
In the meantime, I was presented with this when I woke up this morning.. dunno what to think..

That is true, but the overall climate is not such that one feels like contributing a lot. I blame Swad for it: he chose quantity over quality. As I said shallow kids and n00bs (I have nothing against new user, but n00bs are something different) are encouraged, while the very best were either banned (bofors...) or not encouraged to stay, like the devs here.

Who is hotfuse?
As to the owners, can't they be contacted here:
http://www.fubra.com/our-team.php
Cold fusion had a link in his profile, and on that site there is an email address, but I suppose everything brings back to Fubra Limited.

Yeah, we can dig up old grievances & politics, or we can try and work forwards with what we have..

Yes, but we need a change of direction: stop childish "power" fights (which power? If I had one billion Euro or if I were prime minister that would be real power), discourage shallowness (just an example: that idiotic random 9999 replies thread), encourage "really" advanced users (I am not even one), else that site is doomed.
Another site with better administration might take over the OSx86 project, or maybe not. After all it was only one big experiment. Can't last like long term projects, like, say, Linux.
Everything which has happened during these last few days has given me a chance to reconsider my position. Should I go back full-time to Linux were I was a respected member of the community, helping others? Linux and open source have a future for sure.
