Default WTB: Hardware Unlock - Anyone willing to do it for me?

I'm sure this question will be asked soon enough, but the hardware unlock that geo is providing. Will anyone be willing to do it for other people? (once they have successfully done it themselves)

Of course I'm sure people would be willing to pay for a service like that, I know I will. If anyone has done the hardware unlock and feels comfortable enough doing it to someone elses iphone can you PM me?

I am watching the unlock now and frankly speaking, I will pay for someone to do it. I am no good at it and I might burn the PCB away... I would prefer if Geohot or the dev team do come out with a software unlock...

Are you people just crazy? No, seriously, what is wrong with you? Don't forget that the moment you solder something on your iPhone you will flush your warranty down the toilet. Yep, no free repairs, no AppleCare, and you'll end up paying big bucks for fixing even the most minor hardware problem. Granted that Apple won't refuse you service altogether. So you'd end up throwing money out for having someone do the h/w unlock for you and paying for repairs if something goes wrong with your phone.

Personally, I'd wait until a full software unlock becomes available or just get a TurboSIM if you want it now. But soldering a live $600 iPhone that's just too much, IMO.

Why do others even care what other people do with their phones?

Truth be told I dont think you will loose your waranty ... not yet anyway. Apple is lazy if they treat this like the ipod in the next few months the stores will have alot of refurbished iphones, if you bring yours in for repair they will try a restore and if that doesnt work they will take your phone, take out the sim card that is in it and give you a refurbished one instead. They will send it in to see if it can be repaired or used for parts, end of story.
As for the hardware unlock service wait for it. I am a powerseller on ebay and I have been selling these iphones for a while now, I will look today for a technician that is welling to do these for me in bulk, if he agrees I will be selling them as fast as he does them and I will offer a service of unlocking for a fee.
But realize this a lot of people will take advantage of this unlock and you need to find a reliable source cause you will be sending a phone that if bought from outside the states would have probably cost 800+ with shipping.
I now need to find a partner to unlock these for me so I can start moving these phones faster

Are you all aware that one member posted saying that geohot mentioned that whenever an update is issued that does something to the baseband (like 1.0.1, for example), the unlock needs to be redone... one user even suggested adding a magnetic switch inside the phone so you could trigger the unlock switch without having to reopen...

hardware unlock isnt for me i dont think... turbosim is safer for right now imho...
