Default Laptop install Not quite right... need some guidance

Hello.

First of all, thanks for a great project, and any help you can give.

I just heard about the project at the tail end of last week, and being a Linux nut, I spent the last 5 days doing little else but trying to get OSX86 installed on an Inspiron 1100. So I've tried several installers (Kalyway 10.5.2 & 10.4.10, iDeneb 10.5.5, Leo4all, JaS 10.4.8 and the Generic.10.4 DVD). Kalyway didn't work at all. The 10.5 version wouldn't boot from the DVD, the 10.4 would install but kernel panic afterward and I couldn't figure out (through extensive searches) how to fix the issue. Leo4all DVD wouldn't boot. iDeneb would install but kernel panic at reboot. I've tried all kernel variations (Sleep, Speedstep and the new one 9.4.0 for SSE2 but none seem to work for me). I've tried every boot parameter I can find; cpus=1, platform=X86PC, platform=non-ACPI|X86PC, -x -s -v -F, none seem to work with any of these discs to get me any further than a grey apple logo with the circle and slash (iDeneb with Sleep kernel).

I did have success with the JaS 10.4.8 and the generic to install fine, but with some issues. I've discovered that the Intel graphics card (845G) in the 1100 isn't supported past 10.4.4 (is that right, or am I missing something in the forums)? I've gotten sound and wireless and ethernet to work, but the display won't sleep or dvd playback (even with VLC), which I assume is related to the graphics driver.

Searching the forums I've discovered that many people have had success with getting everything functional using the Maxxuss 10.4.4/5 dvd/patch. I've searched the bay, and googled everywhere I can think of but I can't find it.

So my question is:
1. Does anyone know how I might be able to get the graphics card to work?
2. If not, does someone know where I can find a copy of the Maxxuss iso? (I know we can't post those links, but maybe PM or something...)
3. Is there a way to get 10.5 going? Am I missing a boot parameter? I've selected the hardware and kernel that I've read is supposed to work, but nothing so far.

I'm typing this on the Jas install... which I'm happy with, but without the graphics supported, its tough to see this as a permenant install... the LCD will burn out too fast.

I appreciate any feedback. I've installed so many times with so many variations and searched as much as I can, but now I just need a some help.

Thanks again.
