I recently changed my boot image, which was quite easy. However, i've been researching changing my start up chime / boot sound, and everybody says its very difficult to be done. Ive been told that the data is stored in the ROM on the motherboard. Is there no way to access this data? I dont know much about them, but what do Hex editors do. Can they be any use to change this file? I would really like to replace it. And no, im not interested in disabling it, ive seen the startup soudn pref pane, I just want to change it to another sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
