Default Trying to change AppleTV AFP icon

So, as of now, my AppleTV has the default "com.apple.mac.icns" icon when connected via AFP. I did some investigating & the AppleTV is defined (in the /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Info.plist file) to actually use the "com.apple.apple-tv.icns" icon. Is there any way to make sure my Mac recognizes that there's an AppleTV that's connected via AFP & that it shows the correct icon? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the appletv icons is used by iTunes only. As the ATV doesn't have AFP/SMB whatsoever by default, Apple most certainly has not implemented such a feature ...

But did you try to cmd-i and paste the icon over the icon shown in the info panel? This works for normal files - maybe it also works here.

I implemented AFP using this guide
http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Take_...29_Install_AFP

Pretty useful for transferring videos that the "normal" video player won't play (due to different formats, etc.)

By default, it's using the regular "com.apple.mac.icns" instead of the "com.apple.apple-tv.icns" as it is defined to be used in the /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Info.plist file. Can't do Command + I & then paste the icon. I tried that & it didn't work.

I think I would have to do something along these lines but, I tried everything & nothing is working

Maybe it's possible to use custom icons by changing some system settings. But this would obviously break Code Signing, which is not such a good idea.

I'd say, you simply stick with the current situation.

If you don't want to, I suggest searching for those files corresponding to the AFP server - maybe in "Framworks" or "FileSystems"...
