Apple TV software on Mac Mini?

There are a lot of instructions on how to get OS X running on the apple TV, but how about getting the apple TV software running on an old Mac Mini? Is it possible?

Yep. And it works fine. Must be an Intel Mac though.

I'm confused....are you able to run both OSX and AppleTV or is this hack overwriting OSX?

Those instructions replace the finder with the appletv interface. You can also keep OSX as it is and just replace BACKROW with the new FRONTROW (appletv interface). Those instructions are available here : http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=463

To be honest if you are upgrading to Leopard soon then it contains the same interface as AppleTV + the ability to play DVD's.

So when I get Leopard on my Mini it should be able to do just what the ATV does?
