Default Run Back Row on OS X at 1650x1050 or 1920x1080 etc.

Is there a way to have Back Row run at a higher resolution than 1280x800 on my ACD display?

Right now, whenever I start Back Row running at my native res of 1680x1050 it resets the display to 1280x800 and the app itself runs at 1280x800 when in Fullscreen mode. OR when running at native 1680x1050 and Back Row set to Window mode, it resets the display to 1280x800 but the app itself runs at 1680x1050, it simply overscans to the right and bottom. I have to quit and restart the app so that it runs at 1280x800 and fits on the screen.

This makes sense since when in Window mode, it runs at whatever the screen resolution is before it is started. Which is the behavior everyone wants from Window mode, since by setting the resolution small they can access their iTunes or whatever behind it for sharing since running the app resets the screen's resolution to 1280x800, while the app stays at 800x600 or whatever.

This obviously shows that the app can run at higher (and lower) resolutions, it is just that something in its initialization code resets the screen's resolution to 1280x800.

Since this isn't a standard TV resolution, and rather is the resolution of the MacBook, I kind of read this as something that is not a restriction from the Apple TV, but rather just something someone with a MacBook defined after hacking into it. (Could be entirely wrong here)

The million dollar question is; can this be taken out so that Back Row can be started and not change the screen's resolution OR at least can the desired resolution be defined somewhere?

This isn't really a problem on my computer display, but I imagine this could be a huge pain for someone hooked up to an HDTV via a DVI to HDMI connection on a 1080p display with 1:1. That might mean your Back Row ends up as a small rectangle in the middle of your big expensive screen.

You could get the IR emulator, RemoteControl tool, and use the following AppleScript to launch Back Row:

do shell script "/path/to/RemoteControl 2"
delay 5
do shell script "/path/to/cscreen -x 1680 -y 1050"

i cannot seem to get my Front Row to run at 1280x800 which would be perfect for me. I have a dell 20" widescreen. I normally keep it at 1280x800 so i can see it from far away. When I start Front Row it switches me to 1360x768 automatically which is a problem since the screen is 16x10 aspect ratio i get a large black border on all 4 sides. Even when I set my resolution to 1680x1050 it automatically resets to 1360x768 when Front Row starts, doesnt seem to matter if im in Window or Fullscreen mode. How did you get yours to do that?
