Default Apple VNC

Hi all,

I have experienced big CPU usage when using ARD, around 60% when it is connected.

it wouldn't be a problem if the CPU usage would drop after I disconnect, but seems that AppleVNC gets stuck on it.

Can someone using Apple Remote Desktop to connect try following while connected:

SSH in to ATV

issue the following command:

Quote:
top -o -rsize
check the AppleVNC process CPU usage

now disconnect and see if it drops.

On my side the usage would just stay even after I disconnect, hogging 55-60% of the CPU.
I will try to update with ARD client 3.2 and see if it changes and report later.

Zeljko

This has been true since ATV 1.0. I'd suggest using VNC sparingly, if at all. You can kill the VNC process and restart it to get back to normal CPU usages.

what I did is install Apple Remote Desktop client 3.2 manually. and it is now working fine. when I connect from a mac CPU usage goes up, but the second I disconnect it drops down.

I guess it good now.

Thanks anyway
