I've installed Files, Perian and A52 as per the instructions I found on Engadet
http://www.engadget.com/2007/04/10/h...your-apple-tv/ I ripped a DVD with Handbrake using the H.264 and AC3 codecs to an AVI file and copied it over to the Movies directory on the Apple TV. I get Video but no audio via the optical out to my receiver. Just a short burst of static and then nothing. Is there some missing step I don't know about? I even re-downlaoded and reinstalled the A52 plug-in to no avail. Any ideas? My previous Mini-ITX PC with Wndows installed passed audio through a SPDIF port just fine using files ripped from Handbrake. A week or so of searching hasn't really uncovered anything. I just cannot get this to work. It's so simple but I get no sound on my receiver. I even upgraded to 1.1, reinstalled ssh, AwkwardTV and the Files plug-in and used that Perian installer. No audio.
![]() I think I'm about ready to give up on this. |
