Another thing. If I set the playback to mplayer as opposed to Quicktime I just get a black screen... Am new to the ATV and to nitoTV so perhaps these are all known issues? ls |

Hi Nito, Thanks for the very awesome NitoTv. I got an ATV last weekend and used atvusb-creator-1.0.b10 to create a patchstick so I could enable ssh and install SoftwareMenu. I noticed that SoftwareMenu on the patchstick was time stamped 11/22/08 (v0.71?) so I replaced it with v0.9.1 off the iscripts website. Then I used SoftwareMenu to install NitoTv v0.7.3.
Question: I wanted to use a Keyboard/Mouse with the ATV. I installed Smart Installer and (everything else) in nitoTv->Settings->Install Sofware. This should enable the USB port right? I plugged in a keyboard/mouse and it powered on the keyb/mouse but it didn't seem to do anything on the screen, e.g. pressing keys didn't change menu options, no cursor... Could you let me know what test I can perform to check if the keyboard or mouse is working, basically a 'sanity check'? Do I need to run Firefox or some non-ATV app that uses the keyb for input?? Any help appreciated. Cheers. |

Does smb mounting work in nitoTV .74 ? I've been using nitoTV to handle adding mounts manually since version .72 and it's always worked great. Now it just can't create a socket. Am doing exactly what I always have. I know smb works as I can add a mount from the shell as user frontrow. So I would type something like
mount_smbfs //guest@xx.xx.xx.x/v1 /mnt/Scratch/Volumes/sv1 v1 is the volume name of the smb export from the server. This creates a mount sv1 which also appears in ~Movies/sv1 Oddly enough, I can use afp and nitoTV to manually add a mount and it works fine (always has). So perhaps something changed between .73 and .74? thank's...ls |
