Thx Nito!
Btw... any idea why the menu is choppy (when going through it, it stutters) and movie playback is choppy from an external hard disk since 0.70? (although i have updated to 2.3.1) Seems like my ATV has not enough CPU power and I dont run anything on the background like VNC, FTP or stuff like that. Only AFP is running as I have been doing with other versions. I know it's better to stick to 2.1, but the features missing aren't a problem for me.

Hi Nito:
I am running Apple TV OS 2.1, and using the latest Nito TV 0.7.2. I have been trying to use the remote control on several application launched though your Application option on the nitotv menu; but no success at all. I checked that most of the scripting frameworks were installed on my Apple TV, but the remote control doesn't work as soon as the App is launched.. Can you just let me know a few couple of apps that you know to work with the remote control when launched through nitotv? (so I can test them on my box) Thanks in advance nito! Keep the good work |

Remote never works in apps. What made you think it would work?
You need mouse and keyboard. Or use VNC

correction: applescript IS used for sending tab, and delete and any other custom key commands. note that every command that isnt up, down, left, right, tab, delete, space, is sent with command (open apple) at some point ill probably modify this section to allow just sending a keystroke or sending with other modifiers (ctrl, shift, opt, etc). hope this clears things up Last edited by nitosoft; 04-06-2009 at 01:05 AM. Reason: corrected something.. |

nito,
On your new update: "Added a tbz package installer to the smart installer (tbz packages with path lists intact, ie darwin packages from the 10.4 iso, added to the ~/Documents/Packages folder manually)" if I get screen-6.1.root.tar.bz2 from darwinx86-801.iso, place it on ~/Documents/Packages/screen-6.1.root.tar.bz2 and I use the smart installer. Will it install screen command? |

i really love nitotv, it's such a fantastic app but i am getting some problems with it on my appletv.
appletv is 2.3.1 with nitotb 0.72 and some other stuff installed. i use a extern hdd for all movies. quicktime is running fine but there is no option to strech a 4:3 movie to 16:9 fullscreen on tv, so i decided to use the mplayer when i use mplayer i get fullscreen picture but i got 2 problems a) the movies freezes several times but continue playing after some time. how could this be, it happens on every movie i tried. b) after watching a movie, the appletv is getting very slow. pressing menu on the remote can take minutes till something happens. even scrolling is very very slow. for example: going from a movie back to main menu for watching some photos can take several minutes. so i have to reboot the appletv to be on normal speed again. with quicktime as player, everything is working fine and with normal speed. but no fullscreen...
