Yesterday I installed 0.7 on my brother's appletv 2.1 and it was the same as with mine. No menu separators, no eject icon, no quicktime keymaps.

Is there a debug version of nitotv availalbe? Maybe this would help to solve the problems.
yeh i wish i knew i have 2 appletvs running 2.1 and neither of them have missing seperators and keYmaps work in both of them, in addition to a 2.3 appletv where seperators are still there as well no problem. There isnt a debug version and theres nothing i can think of to log out to try and discern why some of your are having problems. You guys could check the crash or the console logs to see if any errors pop out, short of that i can't really think of anything. all three of my appletvs work without issue. (2.1, 2.1 and 2.3)

console log is here: /Library/Logs/Console/501/console.log crash log is here: /Users/frontrow/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/CrashReporter.log

so i figured out the problem, apparently the sapphire compat classes (which we don't use) add some subclasses or additions to keep compatibility between frontrow and appletv 1.x OS, my lazy check to see if it is the frontrow version sends a false positive if atvfiles or sapphire is installed. Sorry about that, as soon as i installed one of the two i saw the same lack of dividers and the same lack of keymaps. I'll have to make the check a bit smarter and put out a new update as soon as i figure it out.

Default Nitotv 0.7.0 runs really well on 2.3

Nitosoft,

Thanks very much for the 0.7.0 version. It cleared up a lot of issues for me. It just rocks.

All,

I was testing applications on 0.7.0 and firefox worked as expected. I tried Safari 4 (just released) and MagicJack which do not work. I am not sure whats different about these applications but if anyone has insight it would be much appreciated.

jtv.

Default nitoTV 0.7.1 released, bug fixes, 2.3.1 support +more

0.7.1 Obfuscation with network passwords (when entering passwords or editing mount points). Fixed RSS bugs in root RSS facade. Fixed conflicts with Sapphire compat classes (would have conflicts anytime Sapphire or ATVFiles was installed) this conflict fix unfortunately breaks any compatibility with ATV4Mac, sorry. Error message added for when eject fails. Added setting to toggle whether AppleTV OS Updates are blocked or unblocked. Added copy option to copy the file to the current directory or the selected directory, the current directory option will allow you to copy files into the root ~/Movies folder (or whatever mountLocation is set to). Install Flash section added to installer manager. Added USB / Watchdog patch for 2.3.1, added general compatability to 2.3.1 as well (as far as 2.3 and 2.2 were compatible) RSS feeds lose pictures in 2.3+ (may only be a 2.3.1 issue, not sure but for safetys sake went to 2.3). Fixed weather for 2.3+. Slideshow editor displays properly in 1080i. Removed safe display release from settings, added "Set Time Zone" in its place. Easier to set the local time zone, no need to muck around in the terminal.

as always update in settings -> install software -> update nitoTV

or take 2 installer

Thanx nito. The new version (0.71) works great. The issues with menu separators and keymaps are gone.

Default 0.7.1 and 0.6.5 are segfault'ing for me

I keep getting segfault or "Bus Error" messages while trying to install nitoTV on a fairly clean 2.3.1. My last atv upgrade to 2.3.1 hosed my self-installed drive, so I had to re-image my hd from the atv's original 40 gig and upgraded it directly to 2.3.1. I patched with the atvusb-creator patchstick and proceeded directly to install nitoTV. Now when I run the installme script or if I call the installer directly on the nitoTV package, I get the aforementioned errors. Checking the crash reporter log, I see one of two different error messages:

Default Can't update to 0.7.1 and can't restore 0.6.5

Much like the other posts, I was at 0.6.5 and tried the internal update which failed.

I downloaded the take2 installer and sudo bash then ./installme
bash-2.05b# ./installme
installer: Package name is nitoTV 0.7.1
installer: Installing onto volume mounted at /.
installer: The install failed.
mount_hfs: Resource busy
Restarting Finder...

hmmm... what's busy...(oh that's just the mount -ur / )

So I reboot and try again... same result.

So I read the forums and see there's issues and download and try to install 0.6.5 (sudo bash then installme ):
bash-2.05b# ./installme
installer: Package name is nitoTV 0.6.5
installer: Installing onto volume mounted at /.
installer: The install failed.
mount_hfs: Resource busy
Restarting Finder...

Any suggestions would be most appreciated. I'm sure I'm just being a doofus.
