Hi!
I just got an Apple TV from a friend with a broken hard drive (out of warranty). So I wanted to replace the hd with a new one. Since I had a 160GB hd laying around I thought it would be easy to just download the Apple TV OS, copy it to the new hd an build it into the ATV... But it's not. Since I can't find any source for downloading the Apple TV OS there is no way for me to fix the ATV. Does maybe one of you guys have the goodnes to send me a link to a downloadable Apple TV OS? And if so, do I just have to follow the "How To Replace an Apple TVs Hard Drive"? PS: Just to make it clear, i have no bad intentions! I just want to fix my "new" ATV to make that peice of crap a working ATV again. Thanks alot for your help!!! |

Thank you so far for your answer but where exactly is the ATV OS downloadable from the apple site? Could you please give me a link because I'm just not finding it...
Thanks! |

Ok, now I think I have it. I should have read the atv-bootloader threads prior... All the files I need are in the ATV OS Updates... But I still can't find a source for the download. Even versiontracker does only link to a support document from apple.
Does one of you maybe just have a backup that you can give me? Please! Last edited by chinoCHINOchino; 01-12-2009 at 08:53 PM. |

you can always find the latest atv os link here
http://mesu.apple.com/version.xml that has the link for the current appletv os which is 2.3, i personally prefer 2.1 which can be found here http://mesu.apple.com/data/OS/061-50...694-5485-1.dmg |
