This is what asl.log told me just right after AppleTV 's Back Row crashed :
[Time 2007.04.02 20:25:54 UTC] [Facility daemon] [Sender crashdump] [PID 275] [Message crash report written to: /Users/miniduo/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Front Row.crash.log] [Level 3] [UID -2] [GID -2] [Host miniduo] [Time 2007.04.02 20:25:55 UTC] [Facility user] [Sender Crash Reporter] [PID 276] [Message Your crash report is being automatically submitted! Indeed, thanks Little Snitch to prevent "Yellow Submarine" IP Packets to be sent without my consent. 17.254.2.214 is from the Apple Private IP Range. (http://uptime.netcraft.com/up/graph?site=www.apple.com) How the system does to differentiate Apple internal Users from Customers ? ![]() If you (really ?) want to stop this kind of message type this in terminal >> defaults write com.apple.CrashReporter AutoSubmit NO Last edited by Former Bender; 04-02-2007 at 11:09 PM. |

Or likely, this is their attempt at QA. Just like how when apps unexpectedly quit in OS X, you get a query asking you to send a bug report. Since the AppleTV doesn't really have a good interface for that sort of thing, they have it default to sending the reports. Probably you're not supposed to see the log part itself
