No, sums of the IPSW. The DMG could very well be watermarked.

I'll edit my post to include them, but why would the IPSWs be any more or less watermarked than the DMGs?

With this information, I can conclude that the DMG files distributed of iPhone and iPod touch beta firmware are unique and may be traceable to the downloading ADC account. MD5 sums of both DMGs did not match, but I was unable to match any of the data sent to initiate the download with any information in my DMG.
It would be nice to get someone else's DMG for binary comparison to see where the differences lie, but not important. However, sums of the IPSW files contained within the DMG did, in fact, match, so it is my opinion that they are not traceable. The complete sums of these IPSWs are below; if they don't correspond to what anyone else has, please make it known. Code:
MD5 (iPhone1,1_2.0_5A225c_Restore.ipsw) = 8254ccf38735bc74b38fb432ce982081 MD5 (iPod1,1_2.0_5A225c_Restore.ipsw) = 5f8459c9dd9a2da075703f054db30997

I confirm ipsw is not signed. I think they have better things to do than sign each ipsw within dmg.
Maybe you should have posted only a few digits instead of the whole md5. Now anyone could claim they have the same md5 without any proof ![]() And my DMG md5 does not match neither. It starts with 07... I guess it's a matter of hours now before it breaks free to the bay. It would be not usable however without pwnage. |
