Hi, I'm trying to view some .avi movies on my HP Hackintosh OSX 10.5.7 using the latest vlc player 0.99a.

When I play movies I can hear the sound but the picture remains black.

I can view the movies with Quicktime + Perian 1.1.3 but comparing to playing the same movies on Windows Vista the quality is not very good.

Anybody got vlc running on their Hackintosh and if yes which version?

Any other good avi/divx/xvid player for OSX that works on Hackintosh?

Does your video card Support Quartz Extreme? (Look in System Profiler)
If not use VLC 0.9.2 or lower
or try to install other video drivers

You are right, my Nividia card doesn't support Quartz Extreme?

I tried vlc 0.9.2 but it doesn't display even the video window and constantly crashes.

Any other suggestion?
