Red face Processor Upgrading

Firstly, I'd like to say I know this has probably been discussed a million times over on the internet, but all I seem to find are out-of-date discussions. So I'll make this thread because of the new release of the i5, i7 iMacs.

I have a real mac, not a hackintosh, but this might become related. I have a 24" iMac from Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.8GHz. (Model ID is iMac8,1). It can play most games I want it to, but not all. Therefore, I have already ruled out getting a new graphics card, unless it IS possible, unlike the rumors on the internet, I'm just going to try to attempt at upgrading the processor some time after the Applecare expires.

So, first off, and before "TOO MUCH SOLDERING!", I am a very adept at soldering, is it possible to upgrade the processor?

If the pins are soldered in place (in which case I can't get it, as IDK how to solder that deep without ruining the processor), could I use a solvent or solder removal?

If they are not soldered in place, I'll assume the new i7 iMac, while it is bigger and probably has more space for more of a cooling unit and larger fans, is thinner and has an aluminum backing rather than my plastic. Therefore, cooling might/might not be an issue. What do you think? Will it be? Should I add a fan internally or something externally (which is possible, cut slits where needed and attach a fan to it)?

Would I need to edit my BIOS? Or is SnowLeopard special in knowing to adapt to this now?

Would the i7 for some reason not fit? or have a different pin configuration?

Anything else I might be missing?

and before I hear build a hackintosh/don't game on a mac, TOO BAD, I'll DO THIS IS I CAN!

hope I sound a little less stupid than another person coming to a forum to the first time and asking "HOW 2 upGRADE PROCESSOT TO 7i!". I know the feeling of being a "regular" on a forum and getting questions from hopeless people.

tl;dr: How would I go about upgrading a processor from a IC2D 2.8 on a 24" iMac?

and thanks.

Unhappy

Bah so much for that.

Is it possible then, to upgrade my graphics card? Or is that more soldering?
