Help me build a gaming Hackintosh, please.
My budget is about $1000. Here is what I managed to come up with so far. Mobo - Intel DX58SO - because of SLI. CPU - Core i7 920 GPU - nVidia 9800 GTX+ HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1 TB Internal hard drive - 300 MBps - 7200 rpm RAM - DDR3 4GB - Kingston Value Ram 4GB 1333MHz Kit DDR3 Non-ECC (KVR1333D3N9K2/4G) LAN - Realtek PSU - CoolerMaster eXtreme 500 Watt Display - either of the following. I chose them because I would like to take advantage of nVidia 3D Vision. Samsung® SyncMaster 2233RZ 120 Hz LCD display ViewSonic® FuHzion™ VX2265wm 120 Hz LCD display Tell me, please, what do you think about it so far. |

If its DDR3 and Intel Core i7 don't you get better performance by using triple modules? (i.e for DDR2 you could pair 2x2gb modules for optimal performance, but for DDR3 you would be better off "pairing" 3x2gb modules?) Something to do with the Intel Core i7 having a triple-channel memory controller?
Correct me if I'm wrong; and I probably will be! Its just I'm sure I've heard this banded about somewhere before. |
