Default to late on piracy thread, my personal thought!

I am to late on the thread about piracy.
But as many users, wanted to say my opinion.
I agree with mods but at the same time the arguments to close all the thred about "piracy" disapoint me.
The hackintosh forum are well know for the osx on pc.
How many users who has installed osx on pc do you think have buy an osx version ?????
Almost all user download iso made by user from here, give name of iso, etc.....
So, at this point it is "hacking" deserving poeple who have no osx liscence.
Is hacKintosh closed for this ???? Its quite funny.
So some of those thread (wihout providing binary) and sometimes without given at all valid solution, deserve the same cause than osx on pc.
And about this, do you also have forgoten that reverse some prog is also not allow....
Some dev, want that you agre to not reserve them software based themself on reversed prog from apple.
Plus, the thread speaking about installing osx on pc to test the sdk should also be deleted in the same spirit. Mods are pushing some people to dl cracked or hacked (here the border of both are very difficulut to understand) iso to install OSX on the pc. Most user will not buy osx liscence for this use...... It is also illegal somewhere and against your policy. this manip is also not allow I thinks....

Funny.
You can now delete this thread.
Thank you for your effort

I can see your point and there is I feel a fine line the mods are trying to walk, a very fine line between a hack and outright piracy.

OSX86 is a hack, along with efi, drivers etc to get osx working on generic PCs, it would be piracy if hackint0sh was hosting osx iso for the purpose of installing on macs and avoid paying Apple. Likewise the iphone jailbreak, its a hack to open the device and thwart Apple's misguided marketing strategy. There is a thin line there and I hope its not too thin for some people to discern.

It is a hack, but downloading OS X or even sharing a disk and hacking those files to get them to install on unsupported hardware is piracy as you are not licensed to do so and therefore it's illegal. In terms of the iphone, that too is circumventing technologies built in to the software and constitutes a copyright violation as it's not your work to play with and use in an unauthorised manner. You may choose to rationalise it or not care which is my choice, but truth of the matter is it's all equally worrisome in the eyes of the law.

well...as long as theres not direct links here to any pirated software, but I think they're closing it not only because of direct links (I wonder who complained) guess somebody of the mods is friend with somebody...dont see any other reason if theres no direct links to delete every posting. Cum oon! Hackintosh, right? live up to your name at least

as far as i know, hacking the iphone is not against law, you lose your warrenty and apple tries everything (or atleast they make at&t think so, cuz the best thing that apple could happen is an unlocked iphone...but thats an other story) to make the unlocks impossible, but as long as you don't host any modified produkts licenced by apple you dont break the law, but honestly i think deleting links to cracked showtime app etc. sux, because without the dev team they werent even able to sell such an app (yet) so they should nicely ask to donate and stfu!!(similir opinion as slimnickyy, but still some differences)
Peace out, greetings from switzerland!!

Ok, well first off. If you purchased your PC or iPhone or whatever, then it YOURS to do whatever you want with. You own it and it is your property. So legally you can do whatever you want with it, destroy it, take it apart, hack it, mod it, whatever. That is not illegal. There is nothing illegal involved in jailbreaking an iPhone, reverse engineering an app to crack it could be considered copyright infringement though. The only consequences of jailbreaking your iPhone are from Apple, bricked phone, voided warranty etc. It is against their Terms and EULA.

On the other hand, putting OSX on a PC is ONLY ILLEGAL IF YOU DON'T HAVE A LICENSE. Then it would be copyright infringement and they could possibly sue you for stealing software. But if you have a legit license and install OSX on your PC the only rules you are breaking are the Terms and Conditions and the EULA. Apple cannot do anything to you except for possibly revoke your license or not give you updates.

I hope this has cleared some things up.

Thanks,
DJ McG

Don't pretend we should support your point of view of legitimating piracy.

If you think unofficial apps should be free with a donation option, just boycott the one that are not free.
