Congrats to DevTeam.... now my question to MN and devteam is that is it possible to show a firmware select window when the phone boots up? is there any sort of way to show a screen like we are accustomed to on our PCs when we have 2 os on the same machine

Uhm. (Insert curse word here).
I now have a bricked touch. It's... bricked, like seriously, it doesn't work anymore. When you restore it, it reboots right back into recovery. fsboot doesn't boot it. I had finished the first couple of steps up until the command "reboot", and it rebooted straight to recovery. The given iPHUC commands didn't boot it. I restored it with iTunes, and as I said, it rebooted back to recovery. Then I restored again, same thing. I'm currently trying to restore it with XCode.

Now what the hell do I do? Any geniuses from the dev team want to help me out? :/

P.S. I think it could be that I used the wrong fdisk - I couldn't find fdisk in the 1.0.2 ramdisk (maybe it's only in the 1.1.1 one?), so I used the one from the dev team soft upgrade assuming it was the same thing. Maybe it wasn't? Although I don't see how a messed up partition table could cause a brick. Or could it? Meh.

UPDATE: XCode failed as well.

One very very nice thing about the s5l CPU boot sequence in the iPhone/iPod Touch (as opposed to the S-Gold CPU boot sequence in the iPhone) is that it is always recoverable, even when it doesn't look like it DFU restore is very powerful, even when playing around with filesystem partitions.

A true DFU restore will unjam you and you'll be left with fresh system. If you want instead to debug your current situation and not simply get your device working again, you can try setting your boot-partition to 0 and your boot-args to simply -v (and then the obligatory auto-boot true and cmd saveenv)

That being said, IRC is probably a more suitable/interactive place to debug your particular situation.
