HAVE YOUR SAY!!!
Should people use this 1.1.3 jailbreak released by Nate True? Should people wait for offical 1.1.3 jailbreak by Dev Team? Does the opportunity to upgrade to 1.1.3 using Nate True's jailbreak outweight all the apparent problems people are having with this jailbreak release? just thought i would post this thread to see what the overall community opinon is on this jailbreak Thank You |

Unless I'm reading it wrong, it seems that Nate's JB and the one expected from the dev team are one and the same? The blog says that "nobody in the team agreed that Nate True would release it under his name". Personally 1.1.3 adds absolutely nothing of any interest or value to me in terms of phone functionality. SMS to multiple contacts is already possible using a 3rd party app. Still, it's been fun to jump on the bandwagon and begin sorting out the mail/edge/maps/apps/caller-id issues. On a slightly different note, the iPhone lags miles behind even the cheapest pay-as-you-go handsets from more established manufacturers in terms of the basic GSM phone functions, and until Apple begins to add real phone functionality to the iPhone with their software releases rather than concentrate on how they can make more money from iTunes downloads then my iPhone will remain a nice-to-have novelty device, and my real phone a Nokia. interesting topic although i think this is the wrong place to start it. this belongs in the general forum.
but anyway, this release of 1.1.3 is giving ppl lots of problems so i would suggest you update when the dev team releases their "legal" copy of the jailbreak. that release might fix all of the things that don't work.

Zibri's latest blog entry (here http://zibree.blogspot.com/) seems to imply that Nate's release is the same as the dev teams widely anticipated and so-called 'legal' release. Or am I reading it wrong?

Personally I couldn't care less about the 1.1.3 JB. 1.1.3 doesn't come with any new features, and now all the threads and posts about 1.1.3 problems doesn't encourage me to update / JB 1.1.3 either.
Still I can see why the JB was released: Public pressure... All that bitching from lots of people to release the JB. Quite understandable that someone (Nate) finally released it. Still imho the dev team did a bad job from the PR point of view. They just should've told the public that currently the JB is too error-prone to release and not that they want to wait until the SDK released. People would've understood that waiting for a polished product is worth it. So should people use "Nates" JB (rather the JB released by Nate). Well itseveryones personal decission, but don't bitch around if things aren't working for you. I will wait for the JB to become safer and till then stay at 1.1.1 |

I updated from 1.0.2, everything is goof except two things, and i am hoping maybe fixes are out there and i just havent found them yet, or will be out soon. 1. is adding my own ringtones, and 2. is changing my carrier logo. Neither is that big of a deal to me, and since i never used much of the third party apps i can't say much with that regard.

In short: No
The 1.1.3 sucks. Lots of apps stops working & strange buggs. There's no new features that doesn't already exist as apps. It seriously f*cks with all international setings, so if your on another language pack, forget about it. |
