I agree, if the software isn't ready, why did they post the news?
Otherwise, if it was 'nearly' ready, they should announce it really soon.

I need someone to confirm me something.

My friend yesterday has received a gifted iPhone.

It is a Week 48, its actual firmware it 1.0.2.

I have it with me now and i try bbupdater.

it reports this:

It doesn't look like it has been opened.

I can use my standard China Telecom Simcard with it !
It came with the AT&T sim card that is also recognized but just say "no service" in the carrier name.

Does it mean it is unlocked ?

as far as I know when It says No service is a good sign!

I asked my friend where he get it from, he told me Shenzhen.

I'm pretty sure now there is a software unlock !
When i change the simcard from AT&T to CMCC i need to restart the phone.
But after it is restarted, no activation, nothing is required.

The phone is a Week 48, 1.1.2 OTB with a 4.6 BL, Modem 04.02.13_G.
The shop sold it installed with 1.0.2, jailbroken and no ssh installed.
(but some 3rd party apps are installed).

Independence says

"Activation State: FactoryActivated".

Could be hardware-unlocked...
