I've used melkort's (patched chameleon) method but not found a way for bluetooth with it. If you need bluetooth, it seems like you've got to use the 10.6.1 kernel (thought that's what you were looking for). Still looking into it, though.

Thanks Imperiopolis for testing it. It's good to know that it wasn't just my 1008HA that had the BT problem with the 10.6.2 mach_kernel.

I have been googling around, and it didn't seem that other hackintoshes are experience this BT problem with 10.6.2...

Have you had any luck solving the issue with the bluetooth? Several people have it working, but others seem to not. I am now reverted to running the 10.0.0 kernel again until something is figured out.

No luck. I tried going back to the mach_kernel from 10.6.1, with everything else upgraded to 10.6.2. While bluetooth works, I can no longer turn it off. Modifying the info.plist to specify the hardware IDs does not solve the issue either. So I decided to revert back to 10.6.1 entirely.

Where did you read that people have success with bluetooth + 10.6.2? Are they using a completely different installation approach like iDeneb?

Over here is where I am also following progress on 10.6 on the 1008HA and 1005HA models. At least one person has reported everything save speedstep is working for them, confirming bluetooth works. (speedstep works fine here with 10.2.0 kernel)

So far, I am able to run either kernel at will thanks to melkort's sleepenabler.kext over at mydellmini.com that works for both kernel versions. On the 10.0.0 kernel, in OS X 10.6.2, Bluetooth runs perfectly. I can toggle it on and off (had to re-add the proper IDs to IOBluetoothFamily.kext after update), so very weird. Don't know what it is in the 10.2.0 kernel that is stopping it for us (I wonder if it is the patch that has been applied to it, and if a properly patched kernel comes out soon now that the source code is out, we may have better luck)

I didn't read the entire thread you quoted, but from a quick glance, it looks like I_Spectre had his BT working on a 1005HA. Perhaps the problem is specific to 1008HA?

I've got bluetooth working now with the new kernel. Everything is working on my 1008 except for ethernet on 10.6.2

EDIT: for some reason it appears you actually need to boot in verbose mode for bluetooth to work, I was mistaken with the previous fix. It's odd, not sure what differences occur in verbose mode.

So what exactly did you do differently, just booting -v?
Where did you get the 'new kernel'? Was it the original 10.6.2 update following by Meklort's NetbookInstaller (RC4) patch?

I am using the vanilla kernel that comes with the 10.6.2 update. I then just copied the patched chameleon boot file that melkort created for netbookinstaller rc4, so that i can actually boot it.

To get the bluetooth to work, then I simply have to boot with the -v flag, I do not know why this works, it seems counter-intuitive to me, but it does. I still have the periodic problem when doing this that the bluetooth doesn't turn on and you have to reboot, but it works probably 2/3rds of the time rather than never.
