Vista, Windows 7, International, 64-bit support
Less flakiness in the payload
Cydia tar cleaned up

New kernel patches, codesign errors gone. Props posixninja
Added vm_map +x, passed vm_check
No winterboard yet, but now that ball is in Saurik's court :-)
Still in beta, use caution

I have it now, and I read that people are having success running it over a RC1 JB phone, but now that the RC1 isn't giving me any issues I will wait for final release.

I'm glad Geohot released this in time for July 4. It's a great little gift!

Default purplera1n rc2 released.

just thought i'd leave some advice for people attempting the purplera1n jailbreak. If you're currently unlocking your iphone 3GS using the aforementioned method, there were a couple things i discovered while using it.

- DO NOT INSTALL WINTERBOARD. IT WILL CAUSE YOUR IPHONE TO CRASH, START UP IN SAFE MODE, AND GIVE YOU REASON TO RE-RESTORE YOUR FIRMWARE. If someone has figured out how to get winterboard without the iphone crashing and going straight into safe mode, please let me know or post your results here for the 2nd release.
- While turning on and off your iphone, you may have to put it into airplane mode, turn it off and turn it back on, or set the network settings so that it searches for your network and your network only. The previous settings can be achieved by waiting for the carrier to populate(show up) in settings in the very first screen, and then choosing the carrier option, which will cause it to search for carriers, and then you would select the carrier that you're using. Prior to doing this, MAKE SURE YOU TURN YOUR 3G OFF, and if you haven't done so already, purplera1n your phone . The steps i did to achieve stable signal was network settings>choose your carrier> select your carrier> back to airplane mode>toggle airplane mode on> wait a while(10 seconds is great)> turn iphone off> wait for an undetermined amount of time(mine was like 10 seconds)> and then turn the iphone back on. Airplane mode should be on still, so toggle it off and your signal should be fairly stable. If the reception is still fluctuating, you can tell by making a call, it should fail, and you may have to do the steps all over again.

small tips like this i just found searching around the purplera1n posts, so im not taking any credit for anything.

BTW... does anyone know of a better way to sign out of hackint0sh? i can't find it so i usually just close the window. Your responses are appreciated!!!
