I upgrade Iphone 2g to 3.1.2 that time I didn't know it's no unlock...today blackra1n come up with unlock and jailbreak but this phone locked so bad i cant do anything

I tryed to install firmware with redsn0w but nothing happened.
I tryed Blackra1n nothing chanced

What ever If i do i cant pass usb cable arrow itunes logo screen at the top lock symbol stays..... should I do factory restore? but also itunes doesn't recognize without at&t sim cart

pleas guys what can i do with that I'm not really familiar with iphone it was firsttime and i'm totally stuck...

Firstly, the step you are talking about is activation, not unlock.

Blackra1n RC3 supports hacktivation as does Redns0w and pwnagetool.

Restore again to apple standard 3.1.2 and try blackra1n with your SIM card inserted. That should work. If not, get a custom 3.1.2 ipsw made with pwnagetool 3.1.4 and restore with that.

It is most likely you do not need to unlock again. The Unlock on 2G iPhones has been permanent since OS 1.1.4 days. What iPhone OS were you running before you upgraded?

my 2G is unlocked/working on Tmobile with 2.1 firmware..
does this mean I should go ahead and update to apple 3.1.2 and activate/jailbreak using blackra1n.. and the unlock is unaffected.. so wouldn't have to worry about anything after running blackra1n, is that correct ?

Also, what other problems would I face after this.. (WIFI, MMS, Youtube) that ppl are reporting..
Another thing: Is activated custom firmware 3.1.2 same as custom firmware using pwnage 3.4 tool.. (I m using Windows, so was trying to find the custom firmware 3.1.2 online)

There are solutions for YouTube, Location Services. Wifi is not related to jailbreak and seems to be more of a problem for 3G and 3GS models. MMS is not officially supported on 2G iPhones but there are hacks to fix this at the potential expense of bad battery life.

Yes this is created using pwnagetool 3.1.4 - get a pre-made ipsw for your iPhone model that is activated and try that, should fix everything except push notifications.

when will pwnagetool for windows

When the dev team think they have a product ready to release.

On windows you can still restore a custom ipsw created via pwnagetool for mac as long as the iPhone was jailbroken before.

Seeing as you have a 2G iphone, you can downgrade to 3.0, ignore any errors, jailbreak with redsn0w and then restore with a custom 3.1.2 you have found on the internet. We are not allowed to link to copyrighted apple code like custom ipsws on this forum.
