Default "no service" problem

Hi,

ive got 2g, i bought from ebay, signed up to itunes with my o2 sim card and my info and restored,
its been 24hours and still no service,
ive tried plane mode on and off sim in sim out, ive restored 3 times with itunes, switching on off loads of times and walking round incase theres a bad signal.

only other problem is the digitizer had a problem which i knew of, so i cant go into some settings, dont know if this will be a problem in setting up sim..

is it an apple itunes problem or carphone warehouse problem ive phones CPW and they told phone apple, and apple told me to wait 24 hours its been that and still "no service" just says "wating of activaiton this may take some sometime.

would be gratefull if someone could give me the time and helpping me out. as am getting piller to post 5hit from apple and carphoneware house.

cheers

It could be that the IMEI is blacklisted (stolen, reported lost etc). O2 should have told you this though when you contacted them.

You likely have no warranty (old iPhone, second hand) so I doubt Apple are going to help you.

Did the seller demonstrate the iPhone worked on the network when they sold it to you?

I dont think the phone is stolen or lost, as ive given apple the numbers and think they would of had this on there listings,,, if the phone was lost or stolen would it still turn on, as i can use it just no signal.
