Hi Guys, I have been running my iPhone 2G on 3.1.2 for the past few days. I did this by avoiding the baseband update 05.11.07 since unlock for T-Mobile wasnt possible for that.

Now that the unlock from Blackra1n is available today, I downgraded to 3.01 and upgraded using iTunes to 3.1.2 which I was expecting to update my baseband, but unfortunately my baseband is stuck at 04.05.04_G. I cant seem to get it upgraded. My unlock statyed through the restore to stock apple firmware, so not sure why my baseband is not getting upgraded, please help. Any ideas or procedure on how to do it will be appreciated.

NOTE: I am trying to update my baseband version hoping it will fix my wifi issues. My iPhone cannot seem to locate any WiFi networks. I cannot manually add also and all recommendations online have been tried and tested and nothing fixed it so far.

2G iPhones don't use the same baseband as 3G/3GS iPhones

The 2G baseband was last updated by Apple at iPhone OS 2.0

If you have been having wifi issues since then, you should downgrade back to 1.1.4 and try iLiberty which has the ability to run a dev team script to fix grey wifi.
