Default iPhone 2G Battery Problem with 3.1.2

Hi all,

Before at FW 2.2 I had a battery life of up to 5 days. After updating to FW 3.1.2 liftime is below 24h even with low usage. I have the following configuration:

- Jailbreak with PwnageTool
- iPhone set up as new (no restore of old backup) after restoring 3.1.2 custom ipsw
- Settings->Mail...->Fetch New Data->Push = Off
- Settings->Mail...->Fetch New Data->Fetch = Manually
- Settings->Mail...->Fetch New Data->Advanced->Gmail = Manual
- Settings->Bluetooth = Off
- no Apps installed

Do I miss a major point?

Thanks

Install a free app that supports push notifications, run it allow the app to send you push notifications.

Go to settings, turn off push notifications

Delete free app

Your battery life should be better

Yes, i read this hint in some postings and I tried this already. But without success. There must be another problem.

Did not help here. I had 0 kB data transfers throughout the day and battery was still down in the evening.

It's most likely you have the MMS patch installed. Remove it and you'll resolve the battery issue.

I hear you say you don't have any apps installed.. but what about those that have no icon like OpenSSH?

Open SSH has no impact on battery anymore. It is implemented in such a way that it only is activated when needed. Talk of SSH sucking battery life is from the OS1.x days and is long since fixed.

Did you setup your iPhone as "New Phone"? If not, you should have because the prior settings (if retained) may not be compatiable with FW 3.1.2.

Yes... (see second line in list of my first post)

Regarding OpenSSH: Was installed before and is now uninstalled without any effect on battery life.
