Hey guys,
Am I the only one that is wondering if it's just possible to manually either erase/delete or downgrade the baseband from the vanilla firmware 3.1 update (since as of now, there is no unlock available) ? I already saw the Fuzzyband option, but this seems to only help a few. What makes me think its possible is I've seen some posts to downgrade baseband manually on older firmware releases by using "iEraser2" and "bbupdater" like at this link here any thoughts? |

If you use the 2G baseband tools "iEraser2" and "bbupdater" on your 3G iPhone you will almost certainly permanently damage your baseband. This is not fixable. The guide you linked to was for 2G phones. The tools are not compatible with 3G phones at all.
Fuzzyband is the ONLY option for 3G users to downgrade, if you are not lucky enough to be supported then you are out of luck. |
