Hi,
I've gone through everywhere but I've found nothing. Please could someone clarify that, if I only want to keep the unlock, and I don't need any jailbreaking etc., can I just hit the unlock button in iTunes directly? OR must I make a custom firmware and restore? It's a lengthy process...

This I've tried.....Being new to this Iphone thing I jumped in head first without research and upgraded (hard for me to call it an upgrade as 'Locked-Up' seems more appropriate!) to the 3.1. Does this mean there's no return to 3.0 or 2.1 or anything else? I tried downloading the original firmware with a shift-restore and directing it to the 2.1 but when all was said and done there was no change in OS....3.1 it remains.
