Default 3.0 wifi and bluetooth issues on iPhone 2G.

Hello all,
I upgraded and unlocked my iPhone 2G to OS 3.0 and since then seen bluetooth and wifi issues. The wifi doesn't see any networks at all. As I am on T-Mo network with no 3G band support from iPhone, I am a total dependent on WiFi.
When I go to the WiFi Networks in settings, I see "Choose a Network" and it tries to find a network but cannot. I don't see anything under that. I tried searching for networks in the same place where I used my 2.2 firmware both at home and office but looks like the phone doesn't see them at all.

The other issue was with my bluetooth headset. It was working great with my 2.2 firmware and once I upgraded to 3.0, it connects but nothing comes out of it.

I installed the firmware according to these instructions:

iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your iPhone 2G on OS 3.0 Using RedSn0w (Windows)

and I restored my iPhone with the backup that I took before installing 3.0 firmware. I reset the network connections, reset the phone itself but nothing solved my wifi problem. Anybody has similar issues? I decided to go back to 2.2 but before pulling the trigger, I thought I will post it here.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve.

i am using an officially unlocked iPhone 3G and I am facing the same wifi problem . It was working a couple of days back but suddenly it stopped working . I updated to 3.0 a week back and since then I'm facing n no. of problems . I've restored my phone a couple of times after that and still no help ; Now even I'm planning to go back to 2.2 . Do tell me if it worked for you when you went back to 2.2 .

I went back to 2.2 and Jailbreaked it with no luck. My wifi is screwed up. I get Wifi only if I place my iPhone right next to the antenna of my wireless router. Looks like I can't go back to the older baseband version on iPhone 2g. My current firmware version is:
04.05.04_G.

[QUOTE=mactom;423485] Anybody has similar issues? QUOTE]

yes....all the same.
I tried to fix it by:
went back from 3.0 to 2.0.1 than from 2.0.1 to 1.1.4 used iLiberty and the wifi issue payload to fix the BL worked fine on 1.1.4 resored back to 3.0 and have the same issues as before....drives me mad.

Once I upgraded to 3.0, even the Baseband is updated and hence I am having this problem. Even if you downgrade to 2.2, the baseband is still the one from 3.0 jailbreak and hence screwing up the wifi. If there is a way to go back to a previous version of Baseband (firmware), the problem will be solved.

I have seen many posts for downgrading the baseband on iPhone 3G but not for 2G model. I think I am stuck now but hopeful that the new 3.1 will fix this issue or the devteam will come up with a solution but I highly doubt as the volumes for 2G are low. They probably don't care about 2 generations old iPhone.

Thanks.

upgrade your access point firmware.

i've connected with netgear, linksys and dd-wrt firmware all no problem. some people say they've updated their access point's firmware and sovled the problem.

the modem baseband on 2G never changed, from 1.1.4 it has always been 04.05.04_G

Hmm...I am still wondering what might have killed my wifi?

I mean I downgraded from 3.0 to 2.2.1 and the firmware is essentially the same. What else could kill wifi?
