Clarification. Apparently it doesn't work over wifi (having edge off). But I think that's just the way push works and has nothing to do with this fix.

1- erase iphone push app.
2-add on cydia http://Cydia.iphoneil.net
3- search PUSH FIX
4-restart iphone
5-install iphone push app.
and test the push notificacion

This didn't work for me. PUSH worked only once and then it never did again. Tried it with Beejive and AIM. Never get the notifications.

There is two way to get push notification on hactivated iPhone 2G.
1. Push fix from iPhone-DevTeam (Include instructions) *Advance users only!

what happens if i disable edge? how are any of you who tested this getting push? over wifi or edge?

It works fine over Wifi. My EDGE is disabled.
You will get random msgs if you use the first method, everyone is using those keys.

i have ordered O2 SIMs to activate with my iPhone, which originally was O2 os1.1.4 when i bought it.

i'll be using 2nd method, hopefully it will work with wi-fi only.

Does this actually work for anyone (who used the .cert and .key files posted on the internet)? Do you receive no push messages from other people, do you never miss push messages that should be sent to you?

Did this with someone else's cert files that were posted online. Worked once for me (AP Mobile) then I got nothing else. Using someone else's cert files did have the unintended consequence of breaking the Blizzard mobile authenticator app. It seems that the key for this app is also stored in the .db file that you replace.
