Just wanted to chime in my results with the PushFix.zip

Took my legit data from my iPod Touch 2G (also turned off push on device and removed push apps from device)

Patched my iPhone with the certs, and things have been running fine. I only use BeeJive and I get all messages pushed to me, never had anything missing so far.

If yours DOES unlock and activate your iPhone, you should be able to gain PUSH notifications even after later jailbreaking and unlocking for use on other networks, but if your sim doesn't get your iPhone through activation without hacktivation, you will need to wait.
Well, when I get some time I will give it a try. So instead of using a pwnage tool restore file... I just use the factory restore file? Then unlock & jailbreak how? Redsnow?

Just a note, I hav confirmed that YouTube only works without push fix installed. FYI. Tried a few times to uninstall and reinstall. And everytime it kills YouTube, I does not fix it.

So, after UNINSTALLING push fix, and reinstalling AIM, push was working! So... I dont know what to say. Its sure not reliable, I sent myself a bunch of messages over about 15 minutes, and I think it really only pushed about 1/5 of the messages. But it never worked at all with the Push fix installed. So I assume Push fix in not completely uninstalling, or something??? Is there anyway to check if I am using the proper certs from my phone or if they match the push fix certs?

Yes exactly, using Redsnow. However, if your AT&T sim doesn't activate the iPhone immediately after restore, you'll know that this method of PUSH activation doesn't work for you.

As for the uninstall, it's my understanding that it does not remove the certificate, but I've never tried doing it and probably won't. As for checking on whether or not they are the proper certs or match, there probably is a way, but I don't have the current know-how to advise you on that.

I really don't suggest anyone use the Cydia hack... Either do it manually, or wait on results from DevTeam and company. Otherwise you'll be stuck with inconsistent push notifications and occasionally get messages from other people's accounts...

Where do you find the legit certs? I am gonna try to find someone to give them to me, but need to know where to look. Doesnt the other device need to be jailbroken so you can SSH?

Legit certs = Any iPhone or iPod Touch that has push notifications activated without the need of hacktivation. You need SSH to get them, but iPods do not go through activation by means of the jailbreaking tools available so their certs are legit, and some iPhones don't require hacktivation during jailbreaking and therefor get activated through iTunes rather than through, say, PwnageTool - these two options would be considered devices with legitimate PUSH certificates.

So, do you think it would be safe to Hexedit the Certs that are being posted, to make some random digit changes.... maybe then would be unique?

So if I know someone who has a legit ATT 3g phone, if I jailbreak it allow SSH, to get the certs, will that make it so PUSH doesnt work for them??

To the first, I have no idea though I would seriously doubt it, otherwise I would imagine DevTeam would've already offered that up as a general solution for everyone. It's rarely that simple... and you'd risk completely ruining the certificates so that they were useless and set your iPhone, potentially, on a perpetual reboot cycle...

And doing the second will make you both receive one another's PUSH notifications if and when you both use the same PUSH Apps, regardless of the IM accounts or notifications that are set up - the only thing that will stop certain PUSH notifications from being shared is using different PUSH Apps entirely. You won't break their PUSH certificate, but you'll be sharing it, with all the consequences of having done so being the same as what we've been observing here from publicly released certs. This is sort of why I was suggesting people use the certs from an iPod Touch which is less liable to be online 24/7 like a cell phone these days.

Default Beware 3.0.1

So yeah, I did the update and lo-and-behold, my PUSH notifications were ejected faster than I could blink. I've tried everything to re-establish them, but now I'm left with no other recourse than to restore my iPhone from scratch. Will keep you all posted...

This may be what finally coaxes me into caving into buying an officially unlocked iPhone :-S

UPDATE: Got PUSH working again after fresh restoring and doing the entire procedure from scratch again, now I'm restoring my old profile to the iPhone and hopefully PUSH functionality will remain. Would hate to have to go back and install everything from zero even though it was working more smoothly, lol. On the other hand, this time I backed up the working certs post-inject command so if it fails I might be able to go in and replace the files. We'll see.

UPDATE 2: Following restoring my old profile my PUSH certs were once more disabled, not entirely sure why, but they were. I'm now restoring to zero again, after all it seemed to run faster (the iPhone) anyhow, so oh well. But just as a warning to the rest of you: beware updating and losing your PUSH cert activation. You might have to restore from scratch.

ok, did the following. not sure if the cert i got is hactivated or activated.

1. restore to 3.0.1
2. insert O2-UK legit SIM and activate via iTunes (the sim stays until the final step)
3. Redsnow 0.8 to jailbreak + install Cydia + unlock (nowhere to choose whether to hactivate or not)
4. install SSH and Mobile Terminal
5. followed the steps by CorranQ. except didn't need to move the files because it's on the same phone
6. tested Push over wi-fi (because the O2-UK sim had internet disabled) it didn't work.
7. inserted my usual SIM to phone someone and restoring my backups from iTune.

now, this is the reason i don't like Redsnow/Quickpwn. not enough options to choose from comparing to PwnageTool.

it would be nice to get it to work. but from the looks of things, Redsnow have hactivated the phone.
