has anyone checked if the battery issue is the same turning off mms in settings-messages?

I tested with mms off and in 8 hours of standby time with only a couple of sms sent, I'm down to 82%, which is slightly low but seems not as worse as others.

whatever was patched in CommCenter for this hack, it kills my battery very fast, 8hrs and 0 %

It's not just MMS on the 2G that's draining battery life, 3.0 in general seems to be sucking up juice: iPhone users harangue Apple over battery life

If 3G and 3Gs are having battery problems 2G phones will feel it even more.

is it true that mms keeps working after uninstalling?

I finally got this to work on my bros 16gb with rogers in canada.
After doing the activate mms through Cydia there was no "cellular data network" tab.

In the end i had to upload the carrier bundle to the phone through itunes ( iClarified - iPhone - How to Enable Carrier Bundle Support in iTunes 8.2 (Windows) ) , I had to use the Rogers 5.0 ipcc.

After uploading the new ipcc file to the iphone the "cellular data network" tab appeared with the correct settings for Rogers.
Now mms works fine , can send and receive MMS with no problems.
