Hi all,

As soon as the SMS/MMS app is installed on a V1 (tested on 5 different phone). The battery decrease faster as usual for the same use.

I've remove the app, and then the battery decrease normaly.

With the app and the same use the battery life is 1 day.
Without the app the battery life is 3 day.

Anybody notice this problem ?

How did you get it to work?? I'm having the same issue you were having...can you explain "all the rebooting"?

I have an 2G iphone 16Gb, my provider is Movistar Argentina, they do offer the iphone so they are a legal provider, I have 3.0 installed, and my MMS was not available once I updated my iphone to 3.0, I installed the ActivateMMS2G package from Cydia, restarted my iphone and after some tests I was able to send an MMS to myself and recieve it.

But I did notice that my battery life was reduced to one day only, couldn't check yet if its because of the MMS activation or because of 3.0 OS update.

The weird part is that checking the documentation for the ActivateMMS2G package, it only updates 2 files:

1. /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreTelephony.framework/Support/CommCenter
2. /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/M68AP.plist

I downloaded my M68AP.plist file installed by this package and compared it to my M68AP.plist.backup file generated after the installation and they are exactly the same, they both have this key:

So I've decided to uninstall the package and check again, cause I found that the carrier.plist file from my provider had the correct MMS settings already, don't know if they added this settings in the last days or what but well, this is my carrier.plist file from Movistar Argentina:

After uninstalling the ActivateMMS2G package my MMS continues to work, I've rebooted my iphone twice, left it off for a couple of minutes and turn it on again and still works perfectly, so my thoughts are that the ActivateMMS2G package works for people that their provider won't activate MMS or is not in the legal iphone providers list so they won't have a carrier.plist file updated from Apple.

Now without the ActivateMMS2G I will confirm if the battery drain its because of 3.0 OS or was the ActivateMMS2G package that changed the CommCenter and replaced it with one that called some other service that consumed more battery.

Ok ive been trying to get this to work, i have the @g iphone (im with ATT) and i dl'd and installed the activateMMS app and rebooted and all, but it doesnt work. And there is no settings in general>network for anything
