Downgrading Firmware
I'm having some troubles with this. I seem to be stuck on 3.0.1 for some reason. I try to shift+restore in iTunes, point to the 3.0.1 ipsw i have, but 3/4 thru the install i get an error 1015.
However, i can use redsn0w to point to the 3.0 ipsw i had downloaded, go thru the steps and the iPhone is back up and running, but when i check the about info its still on 3.0.1. How do I properly downgrade!? I really need to get rid of this baseband since it's currently locked. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Did you try DFU mode?
- Connect the iphone to the computer with the USB cable. - Press and hold power and home buttons during exactly 10 seconds. - Release power button, but keep pressed the home button until iTunes detects the iphone in recovery mode. - Select the firmware with sift + restore. It should work, try it
