Default Redsnow 0.71 battery problems on 3G

Hi. I have updated my 3G to 3.0 through itunes and jailbroke with redsn0w 0.71 because that was the first version that was up on the iphone dev team blog, and, I was one of the guys who kind refreshed that page a lot.... )

Anyways, everything is working fine, including ultrasn0w, BUT, I have noticed a serios issue with the battery. It drains SO MUCH FASTER than when I had 2.2.1. Is this because the 3.0 software update, or because of RedSn0w? do any of you guys have the same thing happening? whats your results? Should I re-jailbreak with 0.7.2? is there any difference?

Thanks!!

(also, when I put my iphone to charge, the battery icon doesnt show as charging, but it DOES charge, and drain like crazy............ thanks)

I acsually forgot push on every 15 minutes.... my bad....
but anyways, it seems crazy that when I plug it in to charge, it doesnt show me that charging sign on the status bar, neither does it show it under locked springboard. Could that be because I tried using the bossprefs enable numeric battery toggle which crashed springboard, messed up categories icon settings, and, also, auto-lock, auto-brightness and home button settings........... who knows
................
I may have to restore again due to this, which I highly hate doing.............
Mostly due to the biss boss repo having lots of connectivity issues even when downloading small stuff, like only one yxcoder package..........

you didn't state if your phones are both 2g, or 3g, or one of each. Because 2Gs have had known nvram issue that needed to be reset using swifi which, unfortunately, has not been updated for 2.0, and, the 3.0 upgrade, thinking of how MUCH it alters everything in the iPhone, might have reset that and fixed it.........

of course a jailbroken iphone of any kind eats up more battery, mostly due to the fact that you have LOTS OF HACKS running in the background, such as mobilesubstrate and ALL of its addone, NOT to mention the fact that most jailbroken app developers (and I am only reffering to the important apps) have not had time to update their apps for the new 3.0, so, our expectations shouldn't be as high......................
