so I jailbroke my iphone 3G a while back. No problems with it at all (touch wood). Really appreciate all the added functionality. Anyway, I want the new 3.0 software and am wondering, if I have to restore using itunes and update to new 3.0 software before using redsnow, wont I loose all of the apps and things that I have acquired using installer/icy etc over the last 6 months?

I have videos and things from cycorder for example on my phone that I want to keep......

Is there a way to keep the jailbroken apps and things I have now, and update to the new software?

Sorry if this is a stupid question.

Got the ATP backup now. Thanks for the headsup on this. I see that it gets everything back from cydia, although I am now ondering if it does the same for those apps I got from installer and then icy?

If it remembers everything then it is perfect and I will go ahead and update/jailbreak with redsnow this afternoon.

You WILL need to manual copy Cycorder videos over from your iPhone using either
a. DiskAid --> if you are on a Mac OR
b. iPhone Browser --> If you are on Windows.

Has the bug in APTBackup been fixed? I believe it does not work with FW3.0 (unless it's been fixed)
Accourding to Saurik Not sure about other versions but I think this version can cause a lot more problems than it solves.
