I ran redsn0w, on a windows 7 in compatibility mode (XP sp3), everything went fine, rebooted but no cydia icon on my homescreen.

Any ideas?

Tried it 3 times, same result.

What device? Not tried on my iPhone (awaiting UltraSn0w) but on my daughter's Touch cydia was on page 2.

did you check the box that said "cydia", and if I assume you are having your iphone 3g then that's the only box you will see, whereas if you have iphone 2g then you will see both "cydia" and "unlock" that you must check.

Did you check the page number 2 as cydia icon comes there and not on Page 1 as previosuly.

I had exactly the same problem. Redsn0w worked but didnt install Cydia.

But I have found out how to fix this.

On Page 1 reorder all your apps to the default way it was when u got your iPhone Including the new Voice memo app in the bottom right corner. Then on Page 2 have 1 app. In my case it was the facebook app.
On Page 3 put all your other apps.

Then Use redsn0w.

That worked for me.

I'm having the same issue. I've reordered my apps on page 2 and 3 and tried several times again but with no luck.
I tried redsn0w 0.7.2 but that crashes everytime at jailbreak.

Restore your phone to 3.0 -do not update. 90% of problems are cause by updating or restoring backups from 2.XX
