Default redsnw and itunes - a question

hi all

new here and planning to stick around as I need help off you guys Once I start learning, hopefully I will be able to help others.

Got an unactivated 3GS. I understand I need to do

redsn0w - which will jailbreak and hacktivate
ultrasn0w - which will unlock

My question is, once Ive done this can I connectto itunes and download apps onto the phone ? Is there anything I should be worried about once ive done that ?

thanks

After jailbreak & unlock, you'll be able to download apps from iTunes and there is nothing to worry about.

If you hacktivate, you will lose push notification capability (there are solutions/hacks for this but they are not 100% working). Aside from that everything else will work.

Hey, I'm new to the forum as well and was wondering what exactly does this mean?

I've heard that certain functions like voicemail may no longer work. Is this true, and part of the push notification capability? Does it affect SMS texting as well? Thanks.
