I just downloaded the latest update for my new iphone, but whenever redsn0w asks me for my firmware file, I can't find it. I'm new at this and don't have much experience hacking things. THanks for the help

I tried that, but it says "unable to recognize specified IPSW"...

Something I probably should have added is that the update is 3.0.1 on the Iphone 3GS...let me know if it just isn't compatible and how I would go about jailbreaking it.

You must restore with the 3.0.1 ipsw.

But when you are running redsn0w and it asks for the ipsw point it to the 3.0 ipsw and you'll be fine.

There is no 3.0...I just got it today and started on 3.0.1
How can I get 3.0 if I never had it to begin with?
