I've just followed some of your advices and i would like to make you a question as my iphone is not working properly.

My iphone 2g FW 3.0 with redsn0w was working perfectly since it dropped down last week. Since that, the bottom part of the touchscreen is unresponsive. Is it software or hardware?

do you have any solution?

moreover, I can´t get passed the "slide to unlock". i'm stucked there so i can't do anything else.

i feel this 'might' be hardware problem; try calling phone and set autlock to
never.

Give a try and reload sofware.

You can restore again (since iTunes after activation doesn't lock your phone) and then jailbrake and go to Cydia and install an app "Tap to unlock".
This app gives you the chance of tapping anywhere in the screen to unlock the phone, instead of "slide to unlock"

My gut says hardware. Especially since you started experiencing the issues after you dropped the phone.

The fall may have just loosened the one of the cables that support the display assy. Take it to the local Apple Store, the Genius can perform a cable reseat.
