so i have upgraded, jailbroken and unlocked my iphone as well as a few others to 3.0 and used redsn0w, however while i am attempting to unlock another one to and am unsuccessful. everything goes well and i am able to get into the phone and force into dfu mode and restore to 3.0 but when i run redsn0w, everything goes through the way it should but when i get to the bootneuter it hangs with the pop up on the screen that says "please wait determining current settings...." and will stay stuck on this screen until i unplug it and try again. i am fairly knowledgeable with the phones thats why my friend asked me for help, but with this im stumped. i know what im doing is right since i just did it before this one and all worked well, does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Please provide more information.....!

also are you using 7.1 or 7.2 redsnow

I got TONS of those errors.

I believe (correct if my memory doesn't help me) anything unlocked before 1.1.4 (eg. 1.1.3, 1.1.2, etc) needs to be re unlocked. If you have a 1.1.4/2.0 and it was unlocked you won't need to re unlock.

I get those a lot, but ONLY when running the jerry tool from the SpringBoard. In other words when I use to jailbreak with quickpwn and had to run bootneuter manually I use to sometimes get that nasty annoying error. Never with pwnage automated script, which I *think* is the same in redsn0w.

I don't think that's the case here.

Anyway, try to do the other way around. Jailbreak w/o unlocking. Install bootneuter from cydia and try out.

If that does not help, you can try to use pwnagetool and build a firmware to try to unlock.
I never really liked pwnagetool because iTunes fails a lot when restoring custom firms, but for those stubborn commboards it is a must.

I recently received an iPhone 2G at 1.1.1 to unlock. It suddenly stopped seeing the carrier so i figured now was as good a time as any to upgrade. btw it had already been jb'ed and unlocked previously.

So i tried to run pwnage 2.2 and ipsw 2.0 and it froze at the bootneuter screen "flashing bootloader..." but iTunes saw the phone fine and ran a backup and restore data fine. but the phone iteslf was still stuck on the bn screen.

So I tried running a pwnage 3.1 with ipsw 3.0 and I got the same problem!

to make a long story short, I decided to run redsnow .8 with ipsw 3.0 (restore at 3.0) in the hopes of breaking this deadlock. The first run it got stuck at the apple logo screen. On the second run, it went into boonneuter and now it's stuck at the problem i first encountered!

any help please?

Here is my two cents; create a custom image using pwnage, experts mode, unselect bootneuter and try it.
