I just JB my Iphone 2G (first generation) with 3.0 OS with the last version of Redsn0w. It was successful. Iphone works perfectly in France.

When i JB the Iphone, i clicked in the Redsn0w menu, UNLOCK.
Now i go to Indonesia (Bali). I will put a local carrier SIM card in the Iphone with pre-paid system.

1) I would like to know, if i have something else to do or to check on the phone to be sure that it is really unlocked for Bali carriers use whith local sim. I mentioned that I did not do anything else after JB the Iphone, not installing more patch or programm...

2) what is the program callerID and format fix for foreign counties ? Do I need this patch for Indonesia ?

You dont need anything, just go ahead and use any simcard in the world, you'll be fine.

I agree....i just unlocked/jailbreak my iPhone and traveled to Mexico....purchased a Local SIM card and started making calls right away.

they provided me with a local phone number for my iphone and then all i needed to do was to top up my minutes ...purchased $500 peso worth and that lasted me almost two weeks of local calling.
