hi, i am having this problem from morning ,
Everything goes fine until it shows a window saying “Waiting for Reboot”, and it just remains like that and never reboots and nor i see any action on the iphone ( downloading jailbreak data, flashing NOR etc ) …I have tried restoring again several times but everytime time i got stuck at “Waiting for Reboot” screen…i have even uninstalled itunes 8.2 and reinstalled and tried again but facing the same error..cant figure out what am i doing wrong ?? can anybody help me out in this please…..FYI, am on iphone 2G previously unlocked and jailbroken and was on OS 2.2 before i tried upgrading to OS 3.0

try it on a different pc .....are u sure u have ..net 2.0 installed

and if nothing else works .....download a custom fw which is already jailbroken and unlocked using the pwnage tool and restore to it in itunes.....

well thanks everyone for your suggestions...i managed to jailbreak the phone but using a different laptop with windows vista in it, sounds strange but true..i dont know what was the issue in laptop with xp in it....but there is one strange problem i am facing everytime i sync...an error message saying "contacts cannot be synced because iphone rejected it", this happens only with contacts but all other sync like, bookmarks and etc, goes smoothly..

thanks for the link, but for my knowledge whats different in this new version of redsnow

I had the same problem using redsn0w on the Mac, the iphone behaved identical. What worked for me was to take the phone out of the cradle and directly back in. Be careful though to only do that at this phase of the JB process, i.e. wait and make sure that nothing is going on on your phone and redsn0w is waiting for a response from the phone.

Same here i got on the boot loader stuck on 3Ggs 32gig. I reup load the firmware and use purple rain. w/out problem. On the past i had use the redsnown on other 3gs ,3g w.out any problem . I use XP pack3
