how do i downgrade 3.0 and get back to 2.2.1? it's giving me so much problems. please help! also...i'm using cycrecorder for 2g and 3g iphone, how do i download what i recorded to my computer?

to downgrade i think uninstalling itunes 8.2 and going back to itunes 8 and doing a dfu restore should do the trick....good luck ..


do delete the itunes music folder too after unistallling 8.2

nope....that will give the 1600 error...

as far as i have seen , 160X error normally means that something other than downgrading went wrong ...just restart ur computer and try with different usb port.....

I successfully did it by completely uninstalling 8.2 (google it for some guide, I can't remember where I found it but copy the back-up files first if you want not to loose them) and installed itunes 7.7.1 (also use google to find downloading location). I put my iphone in DFU mode and I just started itunes. It recognized the dfu mode and asked me to restore the phone (use shift+restore) select 2.2.1 firmware and in few minutes completed the restore.

Very good info....i think if they do not come out with a fix soon more people will be downgrading to 2.2.1.

2.2.1 is very solid and works GREAT with no problems....i give it a week or so and i'll jump on the downgrade bus with everyone else.

You can still downgrade 2G/3g iPhone to any firmware
You will need ..
1-QuickPwnRC3 download from here ( iphone-hacks.com/downloads/file/138
2-Ipsw 2.0.2
3-iTunes 8.2

Run Quickpwn RC3, Browse for firmware to select 2.0.2 ,and follwo instructions to put iPhone in DFU
when Screen turns Black in 3G (white for 2G) then ..
A-Unplug USB cable.
B-close QuickpwnRc3
C-Reconnect iPhone
D-iTunes will discover iphone in Recover mode.
E-Shift+Restore to 2.2.1

Itunes continues the restore process without any erorr

100% works on booth 2G-3G

what fix(es) are you waiting for? what are the problems you are seeing with 3.0?
