How to check bootloader version?
Forgive the title. I wanted to ask for the bootloader, not the baseband.
A friend has a factory unlocked iphone that got suddenly locked(see thread in the general Iphone 3G forums). He purchased it relatively early so there are good chances that its bootloader is the 5.8 version. How can I check this? And if it is how can I downgrade the baseband to the 3.0 firmware version to unlock it? Last edited by Nikolas.A; 11-02-2009 at 11:15 AM.

How to Downgrade Your iPhone 3G Baseband Using Fuzzyband
There are now two versions of fuzzyband in Cydia. You want the version of fuzzyband that is marked as 3.1GM Fuzzyband will query the modem to check the bootloader version and won't proceed if it is not 5.8
