hi, since unlocking my iphone 3g s with ultrasn0w, i have found that when on my orange uk sim card, youtube, and videos on safari will not play and comes up with a message saying ' the server is not correctly configured'

i don't know what to do, everything else like 3g and mms works fine, this is the only problem i have found

any help would be greatly appreciated

edit: I have realized no video streaming works at all on 3g/edge etc. So unless they are already on it from itunes sync, I can't play videos from online sources

I don't think this has anything to do with unlock. Please try and post in the correct subforum.

A quick google of your error message suggests that this is because whoever you are using for internet connection is blocking youtube access.

Are you trying this via wifi? I would talk to whoever provides you with your internet pipe and ask them to solve this or explain why they are blocking youtube.

its when using 3g, as it works fine on wifi, and youtube worked on my older phone which had a youtube application on (htc touch diamond).

It is to do with your data package with orange and the settings- give Orange a call (I think 150) and they can send through the settings to your phone. I tried this and convinced them that my iPhone was bringing them business and they would officially be supporting it very soon anyway. They sent through, I think 3 texts, and I now have no issues with the data.

Thanks for that, shall I wait until nov 10 when orange starts selling the iPhone so they should give me the details, or should I contact them now, if so, could you give me some more details on what you said to them

Hi everyone, i would like to just say thank you all for your help, i tried youtube again today and it just worked, i thought that it could be because of orange selling the iphone from 10th nov, so maybe they did something and it just started working
