Im not a noob when it comes to jail breaking/firmware for iphones or anything.

Im fully aware that its made clear that there is no jailbreak if you have updated/bought an iphone 3gs with firmware 3.1 .

Im also aware about apple not signing 3.0 anymore either.

Im just here to confirm if there might be either a release date or some type of hope for us 3gs 3.1 users.

Or any type of news to this date on how or when we will be able to jailbreak / unlock .

I just got my 16GB 3GS with 3.1, can I downgrade this to 3.0.1 then jailbreak and unlock it? Thanks.

One basic concept you must understand downgrade to 3.0 will never downgrade baseband so no unlock.

If you read the rest of this thread you would see that it is no longer possible to downgrade to 3.0 on 3GS

Your only jailbreak hopes are to jailbreak 3.1 when a jailbreak is released. No unlock for you, possibly for ever because you have the new modem baseband.

Sadly it is not unlockable, you can jail break it though which means you can run all new software on it and use it if you have an official carrier sim, but if you wish to use it with another carrier sim you will have to wait for an unlock to be released.
