Default DO NOT UPGRADE 3.0.0 - stay on 2.2
I think it's not the correct time for 3G 3.0.0
as dev-team are testing with various versions of
ultrasn0w : 0.8, 0.9-3, 0.91-1 and ...

Problems after upgrading to 3.0.0 (0.9x versions)
no sim, no service, wifi signal dropout etc--------- it says NO SIM but NETWORK SELECTION is available !
....

SO STAY ON 2.2 - yellowsn0w is Ok
only battery problem. No NO-SIM, NO SERVICE problems.
At least we can make calls.

I think Dev-Team should also host various versions
of ultrasn0w so that we can choose the sn0w version.

restore to original FW3.0 with iTunes, then use redsn0w and ultrasn0w.
works perfectly

Do NOT stay on 2.2. upgrade to 3.0 it is far better and, if you follow the instructions, works flawlessly.

Vikram,

I know it can be frustrating, but just plug on.

Try these steps:

1. use pwnagetool to get into DFU mode.
2. restore with factory firmware 3.0
3. use redsn0w to hacktivate the device
4. add the ultrasn0w repo to cydia
5. unlock with ultrasn0w

If those steps dont work for you try to:

3a. create custom restore with pwnagetool
3b. enter DFU mode
3c. option+restore in iTunes with custom firmware
4. add the ultrasn0w repo to cydia
5. unlock with ultrasn0w
